This Latinx-infused young adult fantasy trilogy from Zoraida Córdova follows three witch-born sisters of a Mexican family in Brooklyn as they develop their powers and battle magic through epic questing in the realms beyond. The first instalment, Labyrinth Lost, tells the story of Alex, who despite being one of the most powerful witches of her generation, hates magic. After trying to get rid of her powers, she makes her entire family disappear. In Bruja Born, her older sister Lula unwittingly raises an army of hungry half-dead after invoking a dark spell to bring back her deceased boyfriend. The third book, Wayward Witch, tells the story of her younger sister Rose, who has to figure out the scope of her own powers while stranded in the land of Adas, a fairy realm hidden in the Caribbean Sea.

The series' whimsical visual concept is based on imagery from Mexico's Day of the Dead, spiced with a tarot-like treatment. An urban sans serif typeface pairs with vintage lettering in the tradition of Mexican-American art. Each cover portrays one of the sisters and are distinguished by different demeanors and accent hue.
