Consisting Tres abuelas y un cocinero muerto, Tres abuelas y un joyero de ida y vuelta, and Tres abuelas y un plan de sabotaje, Trilogía de Helsinki chronicles the amusing adventures of Siiri, Irma and Anna-Liisa, three widows in their nineties living in a private apartment facility for the elderly in Helsinki. Rather than a cozy little nest for the elderly, The Twilight Forest turns out to be a sinister place where the old people are deprived of their identity, surrounded every day by lazy and inexperienced nurses, and forced to do gymnastics, attend lectures and take a lot of medication prescribed by doctors they have hardly seen. It seems that for the three friends the days will bring only card games, streetcar rides and attending funerals. But mysterious murders, thefts, and unjust technological innovation begin to take place at the nursing home, and no one counted on the curiosity and free time of the innocent little old ladies.

The Helsinki Trilogy is an amusing mix of humor and Scandinavian thriller starring a group of nonagenarians. For the cover designs of the Spanish versions, our cover cooks simmered 2D illustrations of the three elderly widows on the move and solving crimes throughout Helsinki. Walking sticks in hand and dressed for the snowy weather, the illustrations offer a light-hearted yet endearing approach to the mystery and thriller genres.
