Behind every story lurks a nightmare. The mutilated body of a prostitute appears in the canals of Copenhagen. She is a beautiful young woman, with pale skin and hair that falls to her shoulders and shines full of shells. The victim's sister does not hesitate to point out the murderer: Hans Christian Andersen, a promising and peculiar writer whom she saw leave his room the night before. Although he defends his innocence, the police arrest him and only thanks to his connections can he be temporarily released. In a city ravaged by poverty, social tensions and corruption, Andersen must launch his own investigation against the clock. He has three days to hand over the real killer to the authorities or his future will be destroyed forever.

A unique historical thriller based on real-life events, Muerte de Una Sirena offers an unexpected version of the origin of The Little Mermaid, with Hans Christian Andersen as the unwilling investigator. Blending the themes of a historical crime story and a fairy tale, our cover cooks took a scientific approach to the design recipe by rendering a human skull and rib cage with the spine of a fish to portray the murdered mermaid's skeleton and set the suspense-filled tone.
