After five centuries, a Portuguese shipwreck is rescued off the Brazilian coast. Inside it, a mysterious silver box hides a secret: seven imprisoned corpses accused of witchcraft. Despite warnings written on the silver object, the team from the Department of History at the University of Porto Alegre decides to open the box to study the bodies. After all, what danger could seven corpses offer? None, or at least until the first corpse wakes up.

O Turno da Noite, translating to The Night Shift, is the story of seven Portuguese vampires locked up during five centuries in the deep sea off the Brazilian coast. Six vampires each with peculiar powers, different stories and with different points of view, unite to fight against the new world and against Sétimo, the seventh vampire, the one who should not be awake.

Taking a modern approach to the recipe, our cover cooks distilled a dark, horror-filled design in shades of devilish red and black. For each instalment within the series, without the clichés of plain black or very colorful Brazilian-inspired backgrounds, one of the seven vampires takes center stage as the hero ingredient and is seasoned with violent splashes of blood. The title too received a modern Gothic treatment and is finished in heavenly white for a stark contrast.
